I have the Star Spangled Banner assigned to family members. After that, I get excellent reception anywhere in or outside my tri-level home and have not had any further problems with the batteries.
After reading all the reviews for both the uniden and panasonic, I went with the uniden. I bought this phone over a year ago and we still think its a great phone system.
I ended up going to Walmart and buying a replacement battery which charged within 24 hours. Like a number of reviews, I experienced some of the same problems but now know that it was the batteries that were failing to accept a charge.
Two of the phones took 24-48 hours to fully charge and one never did. I especially like the feature that allows you to assign a ring tone to assigned numbers in the phone's phonebook.
I highly recommend this phone system.
My handset is placed back on the charger every time I'm not on the phone and still it only has a 19 minute battery life for a call. This is the second battery that this phone has had and I don't plan on buying another one for it. Stay away at all costs.
After several problems with other brands of phones, I purchased this about a year ago from another source (I believe it was even a refurbished set), and it has worked great for me. I am only giving it 4 stars because after about six months the battery on one of the sets stopped holding a charge and needs to be replaced. I have recommended this set to my family and friends, and in the future when it comes times to replace my own I will most likely buy Uniden again.
I have this phone so do my 2 sons and my daughter. I ordered this set for my mother. I do not think you can buy a better phone system and neither do my kids. Annie
I don't know. We bought this system from Costco about 3 years ago - it came with 3 handsets and the base unit answering machine.It is THE BEST system we have owned by far. We have experienced NONE of the problems that others have mentioned here. maybe we're in the right location.Our phones have never had a battery die on them - NEVER - and we use them ALOT. Perhaps because we are diligent about putting them back on their charger nightly.We encountered a small issue which was a bit of interference on our kitchen handset - and that only occurred when we placed our wireless laptop near it.The only issue I am finding now is that I would like to add an additional handset or two and they seem to be pretty expensive - considering what we paid for the entire system at Costco originally.Overall though, I think it is a 5-star system - which is the rating I'm giving it.
